North By Northwest Highway Music Fest

What it is:  The Edison Park Chamber of Commerce is hosting the first-ever, three-day musical event called North by Northwest Highway Music Fest sponsored by Blue Moon Brewing Company.  This inaugural event will feature more than 45 local and regional bands at four of Edison Park’s most recognizable venues: Emerald Isle, Firewater Saloon, Edison Park Inn and Moretti’s Edison Park. Throughout the weekend, there will be countless Blue Moon giveaways, revamped menus at the aforementioned restaurants and great live performances. Attendees can enter each bar for $3 or they can choose to buy day or full weekend passes (available for purchase April 1).

The Taste of WVON

What it is:  The Taste of WVON is a FREE neighborhood festival featuring vendor booths (food & merchandise), live WVON broadcasts, a soundstage and children’s pavilion. The event is held in Lorraine Dixon Park (8701 S. Dauphin) just steps from WVON’s studios in one of the city’s premier neighborhoods, the Chatam-Avalon community. It’s a fun-filled day of music, food, live entrainment and community building for the entire family. This 10 hour festival showcases the best local and corporate business in Chicago and averages 8,000-10,000 attendees. Previous year entertainment headliners include, “Terisa Griffin,” “Kindred the Family Soul,” “Enchantment” and “WAR/ The Low Rider Band”

Chicago Tribune North Michigan Avenue Art Festival

What it is:  Art lovers and collectors return to the Windy City to meet local and national artists from 30 different states who will showcase their works including glass, mixed media, paintings, jewelry, and pottery. A unique blend of contemporary, original works at affordable prices.
