What it is:  Chicago’s Forest Glen neighborhood. Where is it? What is it? Can I take a self guided tour through the the gardens? The answers to these often pondered questions are as follows: just off the Forest Glen Metra stop, a northwest Chicago neighborhood, and yes. In fact, the Forest Glen Community Club is hosting its first even Garden Walk this summer! You’ll be able to take that self guided tour, attend presentations by master gardeners, and even meditate by the koi pond if that’s your thing. It’s a great opportunity to check out this oft forgotten Chicago neighborhood complete with amazing architecture, great restaurants and a forest preserve. Even if you’re not a green thumb yourself, its worth checking out this festival if only to expand your knowledge of the Chicago area. But remember. Fishing in the koi pond is frowned upon.

What it is:  There’s really nothing not to love at this fair. First of all you have vinyl records, and who doesn’t love vinyl records? Add to that food from vendors like Upton’s, Goose Island beer, Dark Matter coffee, live music, DJs, and general frivolity. It’s the bee’s knees. And for you record lovers you can beat the rush with early access to the event from 8am – 10am for only $25.
